The Atal Innovation Mission (AIM) is a flagship initiative of the Government of India’s NITI Aayog (National Institution for Transforming India). Established in 2015, its primary goal is to foster innovation and entrepreneurship among India’s youth.

Key initiatives of AIM: Atal Tinkering Labs (ATLs), Atal Innovation Centres (AICs), Atal Incubation Centres (AICs), Atal Innovation Challenge (AIC).

About RISE:

  • Launched in 2023, the RISE Accelerator program has played a crucial role in helping start-ups and MSMEs validate, adapt, and pilot their technologies for new markets
  • This program is designed to support businesses seeking international expansion between the two nations, marking a major step in driving innovations that tackle critical agricultural challenges shared by India and Australia.
  • With the introduction of the Climate Smart Agritech cohort, the program now shifts its focus to agritech start-ups and MSMEs, offering solutions that boost agricultural productivity and resilience amid increasing environmental challenges.
  • This cohort will enable participants to achieve product-market fit in diverse markets and rapidly scale their solutions to meet global demands.
  • The selected start-ups and MSMEs will benefit from a blend of self-paced online learning and in-person sessions, including immersion weeks in both India and Australia.
  • The programme will also involve field trials and a technology pilot in the latter half.
