Context: A BBC investigation has alleged that the Georgian government used a World War I–era chemical agent, Camite, through water cannons against protesters during demonstrations in Tbilisi in 2024. The government has dismissed the claims. The protests were triggered after Georgia halted talks on joining the European Union following a disputed election.
