NITI Aayog’s ‘Sampoornata Abhiyan’
Context: NITI Aayog to introduce ‘Sampoornata Abhiyan’, a three-month campaign scheduled to run from July 4th to September 30th, 2024.
Sampoornata Abhiyan
Aim: Achieve saturation in 6 key indicators in Aspirational Blocks and Districts.
- Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) – Aspirational Blocks

- Timely registration of pregnant women for Antenatal Care (ANC), screening rates for Diabetes and Hypertension.
- Regular receipt of Supplementary Nutrition by pregnant women through Integrated Child Development Scheme(ICDS)
- Achievement of Soil Health Card targets, Revolving Fund distribution to Self Help Groups (SHGs)
- Ensuring secondary schools have functional electricity and timely textbook provision.
- Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) – Aspirational Districts

- Percentage of pregnant women registering for ANC within the first trimester, regular intake of Supplementary Nutrition by pregnant women under the ICDS Programme.
- Full immunisation coverage for children aged 9-11 months,
- Distribution of Soil Health Cards.
- Functional electricity availability in secondary schools, and timely provision of textbooks.
- Districts and blocks are encouraged to organise a variety of activities under the ‘Sampoornata Abhiyan’ initiative, as outlined by NITI Aayog.
- They are also urged to regularly conduct outreach activities to sustain engagement and participation.
- To ensure effectiveness and achieve tangible outcomes:
- Districts and blocks will create a three-month Action Plan focused on achieving full coverage across the six indicators.
- Monthly progress tracking on indicator saturation will be implemented.
- Awareness and behaviour change campaigns will be implemented.
- District officials will conduct concurrent monitoring field visits to oversee and support the initiative.
