Operation Nanhe Farishtey
Context
Over the last seven years, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) has spearheaded an initiative called ‘Nanhe Faristey’, aimed at rescuing vulnerable children across various Indian Railway Zones.
- From 2018 until May 2024, the RPF successfully rescued 84,119 children who were at risk in stations and on trains, safeguarding them from potential danger.
About Nanhe Faristey:
- Mission: Rescue children in need of care and protection across Indian Railways.
- Breakdown of Rescued Children (2018): Runaway, Missing, Left Behind, Destitute, Kidnapped, Mentally Challenged, and Street Children.
- Highest Rescue Year: 2022 (17,756 children).
