- Demilitarized Zone (DMZ): North Korea faces South Korea across a 2.5-mile-wide (4 km) DMZ extending approximately 150 miles (240 km).
- It follows roughly latitude 38° N (the 38th parallel).
- It extends from the mouth of the Han River on the west coast to just south of the North Korean town of Kosong on the east coast.
