Context:
The Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting launched 25 challenges as part of the ‘Create in India Challenge – Season 1’ for the World Audio Visual & Entertainment Summit (WAVES).

- The Union Minister emphasised the immense potential of the creators’ economy, stating that it has become an excellent platform to showcase India’s rich cultural heritage, way of life, yoga, traditional medicine systems, and diverse cuisines.
- He noted that the Government of India is fully committed to supporting this economy, stressing the importance of talent and skill development, as well as the availability of necessary infrastructure in this sector.
- To further advance the creators’ economy, the government is concentrating on developing world-class talent programs and infrastructure.
World Audio Visual & Entertainment Summit (WAVES)
The World Audio Visual & Entertainment Summit (WAVES) is set to take place in Goa, India, from November 20-24, 2024.
Organised by the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting and the State Government of Goa, this summit aims to promote dialogue, trade, and innovation within the media and entertainment industry.
With the Entertainment Society of Goa as the nodal agency, WAVES will feature various events, including conclaves, seminars, exhibitions, and bilateral meetings.
The summit will showcase India as a global leader in the entertainment business, attracting investments and fostering sustainable growth.
