More on News
- This achievement showcases the collaborative efforts across HAL’s research and development centers.
- The Aircraft Research & Design Centre (ARDC) led the aircraft design and integration, while the Strategic Electronics Research & Design Centre (SLRDC) contributed an indigenous mission computer, and the Aero Engine Research & Design Centre (AERDC) provided the powerplant.
About CATS
CATS is an advanced air combat system under development by HAL, with the Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) Tejas serving as the central “mothership” platform. It comprises several components, including:
- Hunter: Capable of conducting deep strikes within enemy territory.
- Alpha: Featuring swarm drones for versatile combat capabilities.
- Warrior: Designed for strikes at distances of up to 700 km inside enemy territory.
This milestone highlights HAL’s progress in indigenising advanced defense technologies and underscores India’s growing capabilities in aerospace innovation.
