Context:
India is set to submit its National Adaptation Plan (NAP) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) in November 2025, around COP30 in Brazil.

- Union Minister of State for Environment, Forest and Climate Change, emphasised the importance of India’s National Adaptation Plan (NAP) in his inaugural address at the national workshop on Climate Change Adaptation, held at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi.
- The workshop, organised by the Union Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC), is part of the ongoing Green Climate Fund Readiness Programme.
Vision & Objectives
- The National Adaptation Plan (NAP) will be a cornerstone of India’s journey toward “Viksit Bharat” (Developed India).
- It aims to strengthen climate resilience, integrate adaptation into national policies, and align with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
