Slovenia becomes the latest European country to recognize a Palestinian state.

- Of the 27 members of the European Union (EU), Sweden, Cyprus, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Poland, Slovakia, Romania and Bulgaria have recognised a Palestinian state.
- After Spain, Norway (Non-EU), and Ireland, Slovenia recognized the Palestinian state.
- More than 140 countries recognise a Palestinian state — more than two-thirds of the United Nations.
